The Founder would like to recognize individuals, from time to time, that have inspired or helped in someway either directly or indirectly in the formation and or continuation of Psycoology.

Educators

Paul Lysen: (Metropolitan State University-Minnesota) My Human Factors Professor who showed the students the importance of Population Stereotypes. Something I am also attempting to use while building this website. I still talk about flying the North West Airlines simulator in Paul’s class. This man is a true coffee drinker:)

Caitlin Mahoney: (Metropolitan State University-Minnesota) My Group Dynamics & Peace Psychology Professor who demonstrated the power of a group and showed me that groups are not always the best place to be. This woman is a true dog lover:)

Glen Spielmans: (Metropolitan State University-Minnesota) My Research Methods Professor who said: ” You don’t have to have a PhD or be in a PhD program to do good research”. If you invite Glen to a educational free lunch seminar don’t expect him to agree with what you are teaching and you had better spell his name right on the invitation:)

Gary Starr: (Metropolitan State University-Minnesota) My Cognitive Psychology Professor who showed the importance of Neuron Clusters and their synapses actually growing in physical size as I related that information to behavioral change difficulty. You will always see Gary wearing his Neuron protection helmet while riding his motorcycle. It’s a big helmet, the guys got a lot of Neurons:)

Mark Stasson: (Metropolitan State University-Minnesota) My History of Psychology Professor whose class was where Psycoology was born. As Mark demonstrated the historic contributions of the innovators of Psychology, I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, as I noticed a pattern of individuals that refused to let anything get in the way of their new methodologies or the applied science that would come from them. As a requirement in Mark’s class, I gave a class presentation on a new science called Psycoology. This was kind of sneaked into a different topic. I will never forget the look on Mark’s face, when another student spoke up very enthusiastically asking if I thought this was really possible, is priceless. The answer to that question became evident when Mark came over to my table at a Psychology Club pizza party and said in front of my fellow classmates “There is only one person studding Psycoology on this side of the restaurant:) Mark will do what ever he can to make sure his students get the best bang for their tuition buck:)

Vicky Holbert: (Metropolitan State University-Minnesota & Minneapolis Community and technical College) My Drugs & Alcohol class Professor and several classes form my Human Services studies. Vicky went beyond the call of duty as a Professor and was a life line for me personally. She once told me that I would have a PhD in knowledge on a topic of abnormal Psychology. She was not kidding. This woman has a big heart:)

Unknown: (Minneapolis Community and technical College) My First College Psychology Professor that I called the Pop Corn Lady because she looked like the TV star who did popcorn commercials. She asked me to stay after on the last class day. She told me she loved having me as a student and as I continued my studies I should be aware that not all people in the field use it for the greater good. I thank her for the warning that I found to be true:)

Unknown: My High-school Psychology teacher who told me I should pursue becoming a Psychologist. Maybe he just spelled it wrong:)
